About Me: I am an elementary school teacher working overseas with 4th grade students. I practice project based learning to prepare my students for academic, personal, and career success through active exploration and real world challenges. I have been teaching with DoDEA for 13 years and have worked in both North Carolina and Germany. I completed a teaching degree from Lenoir Rhyne University in Hickory, NC and graduated with honors and a Master’s Degree in Reading Education with an add-on Gifted Certification from East Carolina University in July 2020. I enjoy travel, reading, drawing, and spending time with my family. My weekends are spent exploring the country around me and immersing myself in the local culture. I love to find amazing places to explore and visit historical landmarks. I enjoy bringing my travel experiences into the classroom to help my students become global learners.
